I have intentionally stayed away from all the furor over this post on the Whitehouse.gov blog (my emphasis): David’s blog is The Unreligious Right: The Opinions of a Highly Opinionated Right-Wing Atheist, and I found it today through a comment he left at Professor Jacobson’s. Obviously, he and I don’t see eye-to-eye on the existence of God. But here’s part of what David (who blogs as UNRR) had to say about recent criticism from [...] I blog under a pseudonym. So I take special note of the recent outing of the anonymous liberal blogger “Publius” by Ed Whelan at National Review’s Bench Memos blog. Publius turns out to be a law professor, and Whelan uses this to ridicule his wish for anonymity: I don’t understand why anyone thinks this is a good thing (emphasis mine): North Carolina lawmakers are pushing to give Apple Inc. a multi-million dollar tax break should the company bring an East Coast computer server farm to the state — an estimated $1 billion investment, according to a state official with knowledge of the recruitment [...] The conservative outrage over the DHS report on right-wing terror threats — the one that alerts law enforcement that right-wing extremist groups may make special efforts to recruit returning veterans, and was released in a rush without considering possible civil liberties violations — is largely unmerited, it seems to me. Hate to agree with lefties, but [...] Ed Morrissey tries to take the high road at HotAir over threatened Republican filibusters of Obama judicial (and administration) appointees. Normally, I’m all for the high road, but in this case, I’m not sure. I’m not even sure that what he is advocating is taking the high road so much as it is driving right [...] Image by Getty Images via Daylife 1. Rush opposes President Obama’s [...] Ed Morrissey apparently finds it dishonest for Democrats to lambaste Rush Limbaugh over his comment that a health care bill would be named after Ted Kennedy, since they themselves suggested it less than two months ago. But what did Rush actually say? Here it is, with my emphasis: Before it’s all over, it’ll be called the [...] Dan Riehl seems to think so. var addthis_pub = ‘deucegeary’; As you probably already know, Ben Stein bowed out of speaking at University of Vermont’s commencement ceremony. Apparently, students were upset by Stein’s creationist views, which he aired last year in the film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. I haven’t seen that movie, not because I had some concerns about accusations that he had hoodwinked people [...] “Zip, Zilch, Nada.” Sorry to go after Michelle again so soon, but I really think her post complaining about Rahm Emanuel “hiding behind his kids” is off base. Her complaint is that when a reporter tracked Emanuel down in the lobby of City Hall, where he was preparing to watch his children participate in a Christmas concert, [...] I keep seeing everywhere — JammieWearingFool is just the latest place — that United Auto Workers members earn $73 per hour when you include their benefits, and its driving me nuts, because I know that figure includes future health care and pension benefits. Even if the figure is technically an accurate calculation when taking [...] Come on, Michelle! Don’t turn everything into something political! (UPDATED w/scaled back criticism)Michelle Malkin cites to the touching reaction of Dong Yun Yoon, the man whose family was killed in the Marine Corps jet crash in San Diego County the other day. The man — again, who has just lost his entire family in the crash — asked people to pray for the pilot, who ejected [...] |
