Like Smitty, who does the weekly aggregation of Rule 5 posts at The Other McCain, I’m a Naval Academy grad. (Though Smitty’s just a kid – class of ‘95, I believe, while I’m Boat School ‘82.)
Navy’s awesome 23-21 victory over 19th-ranked Notre Dame last week gives me a great excuse to get active again in [...]

In two senses of the word: the ladies are conservative, and so are the photos. There’s no genuine cheesecake in the Claire Booth Luce Policy Institute’s 2010 wall calendar — not that you’d expect it.
But it does remind me of the not-so-long-ago blogburst about conservative women vs. liberal women. And for a good laugh, see [...]

Posting’s been light lately because my web host can’t seem to solve some server problems they’ve been having for at least a week. Some days, I have not been able to access the blog at all. I’m really fed up and may be changing hosts this week.
I also won’t be posting much original content this [...]

Stacy McCain’s Rule 5 standard, Christina Hendricks — who plays bombshell secretary Joan Holloway on Mad Men — makes the following disclosure in the August 2009 Redbook magazine:
We have to ask: Are you a natural redhead?
I’m a natural blonde. I’ve been dyeing it red for more than 20 years. I’ve always felt like [...]

There’s that certain unidentifiable something called charm. And Drew Barrymore has it in spades.
She had a very tough childhood, to say the least. Very rough living. A trashy look to go along with that hard living. Not my type of gal at all. Had I met her, I would have pitied her in her teens [...]

It seems like I can’t go a day without running into a blog post about Megan Fox or a picture of her, and that’s when I’m cruising the political blogs. She really didn’t strike me as anything special, so I thought, ”Well, all I’ve seen are still photos. Maybe I have to see her speak or move [...]

Want to play at Wimbledon’s Centre Court? Forget the tennis training and work on your make-up.
When it comes to choosing which women play on Centre Court, good looks count for more than big shots.
While a succession of easy-on-the-eye unknowns have appeared in Wimbledon’s prime arena, the top women’s seeds have been relegated to lesser courts.

The movie Streets of Fire just blew me away when I saw it 25 years ago or so. Turned out I was one of the few that actually went to the theater to see it. The film bombed. But it remains my favorite movie of all time, and I don’t consider anything else even close.
There’s [...]

I hereby move that there be no picures of Maria Belen Chapur allowed in any Rule 5 posts this week. Or ever. And that goes for anyone else’s “other woman.”
Just in case anyone’s thinking about it.

This is just wrong on so many levels.
Obviously, someone, somewhere, thinks this look is attractive. But I seriously doubt that includes anyone in the regular Rule 5 crowd. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I’m not here to make fun of Swedish bodybuilder Irene Andersen’s, looks, I’m just wondering . . . why?
More power to her for going after [...]

I think you probably have to be at least 45 or so to realize that, the title of this post notwithstanding, it is not about smells, but about hair. (Click here if you still don’t get it.)
Some guys like it long. Some like it short. Or shiny. Or red.
Me? I like it thick. I always [...]

I said last week I’d try to do something different with Rule 5 from time to time, and here’s my first attempt.
Everyone has different tastes, and notices different things. Legs. Eyes. Whatever.
One of my things: voices.
So here’s to three ladies with terrific voices. The three are very different from each other, but I like ‘em all. Oh, and, [...]

Moe Lane, that is. I’m not much of a Rule 5 guy either.(For those of you not following that link, Stacy McCain’s Rule 5 for generating blog traffic is to post cheesecake photos.)
OK, there’s this. But Rule 5 is not a regular feature around here. And you have to admit today’s contribution (right) [...]
