I’ve read a lot of news stories and blog posts about yesterday’s shooting at the Holocaust Museum. Some of these gals aren’t that good looking at all. And there are at least two important omissions. How else to explain a report in the Charlotte Observer that North Carolina is considering monitoring vehicle mileage of private citizens in order to tax them according to mileage and road use? The monitoring would be accomplished either through regular odometer readings or, more ambitiously, through GPS tracking: A mob of “Black Friday” shoppers trampled a Wal-Mart employee to death this morning in New York. There’s a horrible fire burning many home in the hills above Montecito, California. Believe I or not, politic intrudes on my thoughts even as I pray for the firefighters and the people whose property is threatened or has already been destroyed. Why, you ask?
