Lots of bloggery today over the apparent dichotomy of views between President Obama and Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens over whether the stimulus package will allow Caterpillar to rehire laid off workers. This apparently is not just a divergence of views on the efficacy of the stimulus packge, but on what the CEO said about it. [...] Some people are trying to attach significance to the fact that various Islamist nutjobs purport to support one or the other candidates for U.S. president this year. McCain was stupid to try to capitalize on Hamas’s endorsement of Obama, which really put him on the spot when it was reported this week that an extremist [...] Not that I should be surprised at the results, but World Public Opinion.org reports that recent polls taken around the world show that in 14 of 18 countries, the public opposes “taking sides” in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the public in three countries — Egypt, Iran and Turkey — favors supporting the Palestinians, and the public [...] So I’m getting ready to do a post about Jimmy Carter’s shameful, Islamist-validating trip to the Mideast, which has already been covered by a lot of folks, and I’m looking around for a public domain portrait of Carter that I can use in the post, when I run across this public domain photo of Carter [...]
