Today is the 64th anniversary of the Allied invasion of occupied Europe, the most famous “D-Day” of them all. The heroism of these men remains inspiring. The evil they fought was horrifying. It is a day worth remembering.

Tuesday’s Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that a high school canceled a visit from some decorated Iraq and Afghanistan vets after getting some complaints from parents.
Steve Massey, the school principal, said the decision to cancel was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.
