Rule 5 Sunday: Audio Edition!

I said last week I’d try to do something different with Rule 5 from time to time, and here’s my first attempt.

Everyone has different tastes, and notices different things. Legs. Eyes. Whatever.

One of my things: voices.

So here’s to three ladies with terrific voices. The three are very different from each other, but I like ‘em all. Oh, and, uh . . . none of these gals is too hard on the eyes, either.

Sela Ward

First up: Sela Ward (upper right). Best. Voice. Ever. Not smoky/husky sexy. Soft, smooth, lovingly sexy. She makes anything sound wonderful. I swear she’d sound good telling me to take out the trash, to pick my clothes up off the floor, to clean the garage, or that I couldn’t play golf. To listen to her, click here or on her picture. Sure, she’s playing it up a little — a little — in that sound clip, but that’s no different than getting all dolled up for a photo shoot.

Ming-Na Wen

Next: Ming-Na Wen (left). Voice of Mulan and other animated characters, and it’s easy to see why. There’s something in her voice that sounds unusually sweet and sincere. It’s not a classically “sexy” voice, but I could listen to it all day. To listen, click here or on her picture.

Angie Harmon

Angie Harmon

Finally: Angie Harmon (lower right): She’s way too skinny for my tastes, but she’s apparently a conservative (yeah!) and has a terrific smoky voice that fits the more typical (if there is such a thing) prototype for sexy. For crying out loud, she sounds great talking about dog food . . . which you’ll discover by clicking here or on her picture.

Come to think of it, Stacy McCain, who articulated Rule 5 for all aspiring bloggers, did so with Christina Hendricks, who has a nice voice of her own (click here to listen), though I think it sounds best when she’s in character as Joan Holloway in Mad Men.

So, there you have it. A Rule 5 post you don’t even have to see to appreciate.  All you have to do is listen!

UPDATE: Stacy’s and Smitty’s Rule 5 Sunday round-up links to an unusually large number of interesting takes on Rule 5: economic, political, inter-species, even artificial. This post seems downright conventional cheesecake by comparison!
