Arlen, you ignorant slut!

Yes, Arlen Specter has said lots of stupid things over the years, and has been particularly stupid (and dishonest) regarding his move from the Republican party to the Democratic party.  But that’s not the reason I dusted off that classic line from Saturday Night Live for the title of this post.  It’s this, from Robert Stacy McCain:

Specter reminds me of the high-school slut trying to sleep her way to popularity — a weak reed, blown by the shifting winds.

How better to describe a man who, six weeks after diavowing rumors he planned to change parties, now jumps ship in the face of a certain primary loss?
